Recommendation Temperature:

Layering matters most when the weather outside keeps changing. Each layer has its own specific job.

Base layer: wicks away moisture. Clothing made from synthetic or blended fibers moves moisture away from the skin and passes it on to the next layers. Materials like Thermolite or wool are a good choice — both are breathable and comfortable against the skin. Wool wicks and absorbs moisture while still keeping you warm even when damp.

Mid layer: adds extra warmth. The next layer is known as the mid layer. In winter there can be several mid layers, while in spring one is often enough. The mid layer provides a comfortable amount of extra warmth, but make sure it isn't too tight — tightly compressed layers restrict movement and don't insulate as well. Fleece is a good option, as it's breathable and has warming properties similar to wool, while being easier to care for and quick-drying. Wool, in turn, keeps its warming properties even when wet.

Outer layer: protects against rain, wind, and snow. The outer layer's most important job is protection from the elements. It's worth choosing a waterproof outer layer so it can be used in a wide range of conditions — on clear days, in rain, or in wet snow. To be fully functional, the outer layer also needs to be breathable so moisture can escape from the clothing.

You can easily adjust the warmth of the whole outfit with various accessories. Don't forget to choose footwear to match the weather too!
